As a young man, he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Georgia in 1966, which established the solid foundation that would support his future career. After college, Lewis worked for his father at General Mortgage and Realty. It was there, initially as a warehouse clerk, that Lewis worked on through to handle FHA/VA and Conventional Loan Originations. He later managed the Aetna Life Insurance Company account, which included income property finance and appraisal review, until he was hired as Executive VP overseeing building and development companies.
In 1973, the Atlanta native started his namesake company, Lewis Reeves Homes, which has been building the American dream for over 30 years. In his low-key Southern manner, Lewis combined experience, customer relationships, traditional values, and exceptional craftsmanship to exceed the expectations of his high end residential clients. This philosophy has proven to be invaluable for Lewis Reeves, who has been the preferred builder at some of Atlanta’s most prestigious communities. As the first approved builder in Country Club of the South, he has completed over 60 of the community’s homes and was named Builder of the Year for three years total. In 2005, he was selected as the builder for the 12,000-square-foot Atlanta Magazine Dream Home in Country Club of the South.
The future for Lewis Reeves is bright. His desire for continued improvement led to the addition of Lewis Reeves Residential in 2006, which specializes in custom home building, renovations, and light commercial services.
Lewis Reeves has built his company, even in these difficult times, to succeed with no debt, no lots, and no spec homes on the books. "I’m energized by the challenges out there! I surround myself with the best people, give them a vision of what I want to accomplish, and then get out of the way…and watch it happen", says Lewis.
